OSTENIL is a solution containing sodium hyaluronate. It is injected into the space in the joint that contains synovial fluid and works by restoring the normal balance between the breakdown and production of sodium hyaluronate.

OSTENIL is usually given as a course of 3 injections over a period of 3 weeks. Please consult your clinician.

  • Once your order has been placed, you will receive an order confirmation by email.
  • Once your order has been processed you will receive a despatch confirmation email and tracking information.
  • Shipping:
Orders placed before 1pm on a working day will be processed and shipped same day. Orders placed after 1pm on a working day will be processed and shipped on the next working day.
Orders placed over the weekend, bank holidays or the Christmas closure will be processed and shipped on the next possible working day.
For shipping we use Royal Mail.
  • Delivery time:
Royal Mail Standard Tracked Delivery (2-3 working days). 
Royal Mail Special Delivery (1-2 working days if ordered before 1pm).

Next working day does not cover Saturday delivery.

Deliveries to the Isle of Man, Channel Islands or Northern Ireland may take an extra day or two because of longer transit times.

Deliveries shipped to the Republic of Ireland usually arrive in approximately 3 working days, but can take up to 28 days (subject to customs clearance). Import duties and/or taxes may be applicable for which you are liable.
  • Customs duties for orders from the Republic of Ireland

All our products are sold on a DDU (Delivery Duty Unpaid) basis.
Additional taxes, fees, or levies may apply to orders delivered outside the UK, according to local legislation.
Recipients of deliveries made outside the UK (i.e., Republic of Ireland) may have to pay import duty or formal customs entry. If this is the case, the delivery may be delayed. TRB Chemedica UK Ltd cannot offer any assistance in these processes.

  • Residential Addresses:

If you are having your order delivered to a residential address, then please note that if no one is available to sign for the parcel your order may be left at a nearby Royal Mail office, for collection at your convenience.

  • Please note, there may be delays in transit which are out of our control. With this in mind, we recommend that customers only book appointments with patients or clinicians once orders have been delivered.

Description

OSTENIL® is an isotonic solution of highly purified hyaluronan (sodium hyaluronate) developed specifically for the treatment of osteoarthritis. It contains 20mg / 2ml sodium hyaluronate and is administered intra-articularly as a course of one to three weekly injections. The beneficial effects of OSTENIL® develop gradually during a course of injections and persist for several months. Following a course of 3-5 injections, symptomatic improvement can be expected to last for up to 12 months.

Licensed Indication: Pain and restricted mobility of the knee and other big synovial joints like hip and shoulder.

Reimbursement: Available on the NHS (FP10); listed in MIMS (Section "Musculoskeletal / Local Injections / Hyaluronate")

Pack Size: 20 mg / 2ml syringe. Needle not included.

Dosage: Single injection once a week

Active Ingredient: Sodium hyaluronate 1.0%

Usage

Inject OSTENIL® into the affected joint once a week for a total of 3 – 5 injections. Several joints may be treated at the same time. Depending on the severity of the joint disease the beneficial effects of a treatment cycle of five intra articular injections may last for six months or longer. The sodium hyaluronate itself is degraded within a few days. Repeat treatment cycles may be administered as required.

Take the pre-filled syringe out of the sterile pack, unscrew the Luer lock cap from the syringe, attach a suitable needle with Luer connector (for example 18 to 25 G) and secure it by turning slightly. Remove any air bubble, if present, before injection.
