Carbon Reduction Plan
Publication Date: 01/07/2026
1. Commitment to Achieving Net Zero
TRB Chemedica UK Ltd is committed to achieving Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions (Scope 1, 2 and relevant Scope 3) across its UK operations and value chain by 2050.
TRB Chemedica UK Ltd recognises its responsibility to reduce environmental impacts associated with medical device manufacturing, supply chain activities, distribution, and corporate operations.
This Carbon Reduction Plan (CRP) sets out TRB Chemedica UK Ltd’s current emissions baseline, reduction commitments, planned decarbonisation activities, and governance arrangements to support its transition towards Net Zero.
TRB Chemedica UK Ltd is committed to maintaining high standards of regulatory compliance, product quality, patient safety, and operational resilience while reducing greenhouse gas emissions throughout its value chain.
2. Baseline Emissions Footprint
Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases produced prior to the implementation of carbon reduction strategies and provide the reference point against which future emissions reductions will be measured.
2.1 Baseline Statement
The period 1 January 2025 to 31 December 2025 has been selected as TRB Chemedica UK Ltd’s baseline reporting year. This is the first year in which TRB Chemedica UK Ltd has formally measured and reported its greenhouse gas emissions.
As no verified historical emissions data was previously available, the 2025 reporting period has been adopted as the organisation’s baseline year.
Future Carbon Reduction Plans will report progress against this baseline and demonstrate continued progress towards achieving Net Zero.
2.2 Baseline Emissions
Reporting Period: 1 January 2025 – 31 December 2025
TRB Chemedica UK Ltd’s greenhouse gas emissions inventory was calculated using the SME Climate Hub carbon measurement and reporting tool. The assessment applies recognised greenhouse gas accounting principles aligned with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol Corporate Standard and uses appropriate greenhouse gas conversion factors.
TRB Chemedica UK Ltd’s estimated total greenhouse gas emissions for the baseline year were:

2.3 Key Emission Drivers
The principal emission sources identified within TRB Chemedica UK Ltd’s carbon footprint are:
- Upstream and downstream transportation and distribution
- Purchased goods and services
- Packaging materials
- Electricity and heating consumption
- Business travel and employee commuting
The assessment demonstrates that Scope 3 emissions represent the majority of TRB Chemedica UK Ltd’s carbon footprint. As a result, future reduction activities will focus primarily on areas where the company can influence emissions reductions, including supply chain engagement, logistics optimisation, sustainable procurement, and packaging improvements.
2.4 Emissions Profile and Value Chain Context
TRB Chemedica UK Ltd is the UK subsidiary of the wider TRB Chemedica International group, a global healthcare organisation with activities spanning medical devices and pharmaceutical products. Within the UK market, TRB Chemedica UK Ltd primarily supports the commercialisation, distribution, and supply of medical device products.
In addition to distributing products supplied by TRB Chemedica International, TRB Chemedica UK Ltd also acts as a distributor for several other medical device companies operating within the healthcare sector. Consequently, the organisation’s emissions profile reflects both its role within a global healthcare supply chain and its select and limited distribution activities undertaken on behalf of external partners.
Due to the nature of its business model, TRB Chemedica UK Ltd has a relatively small direct operational footprint, with limited Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions associated with UK operational activities, including office-based activities and energy consumption. The majority of the organisation’s greenhouse gas emissions arise from Scope 3 value chain activities, particularly those associated with the supply, transportation, and distribution of medical devices.
The principal contributors to the baseline emissions footprint are:
- Upstream transportation and distribution associated with the movement of medical devices into the UK supply chain.
- Downstream transportation and distribution associated with delivery of products to healthcare providers, customers, and distribution partners.
- Purchased goods and services associated with products distributed within the UK market and operational activities supporting TRB Chemedica UK Ltd’s distribution activities.
TRB Chemedica UK Ltd recognises that, as a distributor, it has limited direct operational control over certain Scope 3 emissions sources. However, the company can influence emissions reductions through supplier engagement, logistics optimisation, sustainable procurement practices, packaging improvements, and collaboration with manufacturing and transport partners.
3. Emissions Reduction Targets
TRB Chemedica UK Ltd has established carbon reduction targets against the 2025 baseline year.
3.1 Near-Term Targets (by 2030)
